OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Welcome to Toronto!
This month, Austin and I visited Canada for the first time and we selected Toronto as our destination within our neighbor to the north. We rented an Airbnb in an uber hip downtown condo between King and Queen streets. One of my favorite things to do on vacation in a new city is check out the thrift stores and the funky neighborhood we stayed in had no shortage. Our first day I hit up two stores, and managed two more later in the week.
The weather during our stay was more erratic than I’m used to. In Florida, we just have one summer forecast: highs in the 90’s, humid, chance of rain in the afternoon. Toronto experienced hot temps close to tropical weather one day, 68 degree high the next. This day, however, was spent walking around mostly outside in the sun, so I picked an airy floral bohemian tank top paired with a short corduroy skirt. The scarf kept the sun off my skin and warded off over-air conditioned interiors (though there weren’t much of the latter up there.)
I came away with a massive haul of treasures you’ll be seeing on this blog in the next few weeks, and we manged to take some photos in between all the thrifting, comic book shopping and poutine-eating that happened on this trip. Toronto was so much fun and we can’t wait to go back!
